Vocal group "Crystal chorus" was my first experience of "diving" in a professional band, same time with starting Chaikovskiy Music College in Ekaterinbourg (in 1994-1998 I`ve studied jazz-vocals and jazz-piano there). I was lucky the group was searching for a singer at the moment, so I became the first and only one soprano in the quartet (others were two tenors and baritone). The fact, that vocal group was working with Nikolai Baranov`s big-band in the Urals Variety Theatre, gave us many advantages like performing at best events, f.e. international jazz festivals, touring...and keep studying...

The great luck of the band was also to have with us a brilliant vocal coach Elena Zaharova: a bright jazz singer, high-level musician and simply unique vocal teacher. I was amazed by her professional methods of work with vocal groups, sophisticated arrangements and wise support, and i still am so thankfull! And sometimes I think that every new success of mine is a kind of logical consequence of the skills she gave us... All knowledge I `ve got during those 4 years not only help to keep my voice in its "best vocal shape" everyday, but grow and improve in my prefessional music activity of a singer and vocal teacher too...

It`s said that the sign of a good vocal group is a clear unison...we can say, we enjoyed our "crystal sound" all those years, and it really was beautiful: one high soprano, supported by unlimited and amazing contra-tenor, merging all together with warm tenor and velvet baritone in colorful harmonies... we sang with the bigband, jazz-trio, piano - accompainment and a`cappella...arrangements of "the Beatles" songs written by Alexey Zikin and Konstantin Raskin are still loved by audience...

That was our time to know about "Manhattan transfer" and "Take 6" ...like we discovered another planet, without knowing it`s closer than we suspect.... long ago we thought that Moscow is far as well... but we worked hard, enjoying our music and looking forward... then in 1998, to my regret, I had to leave the band to continue my education in Music Academy by Gnesiny in Moscow...but it was not the end...

"Crystal chorus" is now a succesful jazz-quintet with new members and more than 10 years story, and they`re more often appearing in Moscow. In october 2005 the guys invited me to Ekaterinbourg to take part in their 10-years celebrity concert as a special guest, and with my big pleasure, we sang our favorite songs together with Nikolay Baranov`s big -band...songs that professional memory kept perfectly...
